Jiang Ru has worked as an environmental specialist in the East Asia Sustainable Development Department of the World Bank since 2005. His work has concentrated on grant financed environmental investment projects on phase-out of ozone depleting substances and persistent organic pollutants in China and other East Asia countries. He is also supporting the region’s project teams in mobilizing grant resources from the Global Environment Facility to finance activities with global environmental benefits.
In addition to his work at the World Bank, Mr. Ru has done extensive research on the development of environmental NGOs in China since 2002.
Prior to his Ph.D. study, Mr. Ru served as a faculty member at the Center for Environmental Sciences at the Beijing University from 1995 to 1998. In Beijing University, his research focused on implementation of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete Ozone Layer and environmental planning for Benxi City.
