Dr Gong is the Managing Director of ESD China Limited, a firm that he and his partners co-founded in 1998 and now a leading international professional firm providing services in environmental and energy areas in China and Southeast Asia. ESD China has 18 sister member companies around the world under Inogen name. Prior to joining ESD, Dr. Gong has served as the Vice President for the Louis Berger Group (USA), and was a partner and Regional Manager for ERM China.
 
In addition to his full time ESD job, Dr. Gong is currently serving as the President of Professional Association for China Environment (PACE), a board director for International Fund for China Environment (IFCE), a technical advisor for Blacksmith Institute, a US foundation, and a senior committee advisor for the Circular Economy of China Association of Environmental Protection Industry. He is also an adjunct professor for Beijing University, Beijing Normal University and Tianjing Polytechnic University.
 
Dr. Gong graduated from the prestigious Beijing University in China with both B.Sc. and M. Sc. Degrees, and received his Ph.D. from the State University of New York in USA. He is a licensed Professional Engineer registered in the United States and had worked in USA for over a decade before returning to China in 2001. He has been an invited speaker to many international conferences, and is an author for a number of publications.
